Based in Melbourne, Australia, Liz is the Regional Director for Marie Stopes International’s programs in the Asia Pacific. Marie Stopes is a social business, using innovative approaches to bring sexual and reproductive health services and family planning choices to women and men who otherwise would have limited or no access to contraceptive methods of their choice. Liz works closely with in-country MSI trained teams, governments, donors and fellow agencies to enable women in developing countries to have some control over their own fertility. Previously Liz led country programs for CARE USA in India, West Bank & Gaza and Eritrea. Liz ran a children’s family reunification program in the refugee camps around Goma in the aftermath of the Rwandan crisis in 1994-5, provided camp based humanitarian assistance in Macedonia during the Kosovo crisis in 1999 and as Assistant Mission Director supported reconstruction and rehabilitation activities in post-conflict Kosovo.
