Jancsy

Irene Jancsy is Communications Director of Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Austria since 2007 and is responsible for all aspects of public relations.
After studying languages (Spanish, French) in Vienna and Barcelona she started her career as a journalist at the news magazine Profil in 1991. Later she worked as US correspondent for Profil and other German language media in New York. After her return to Austria, the mother of two worked for Profil, Universum, Der Standard and Die Zeit.
As an experienced journalist, Irene Jancsy knows how hard it is to draw public attention to humanitarian crises. “The teams of Médecins Sans Frontières are often working in regions that are not in the center of media attention, or that are not accessible for journalists. We have a very special responsibility.”
