The team of the Humanitarian Congress Vienna is delighted to open a new HuCo Vienna chapter, and we invite you to accompany us along this journey.

Since 2011, the HuCo Vienna has been a pillar for discussion and networking on humanitarian issues in Austria and beyond. Together with you, we have tackled bravely crucial topics long before they entered the mainstream. We gave people from all kinds of humanitarian walks of life and beyond a voice. We created solidarity. We put the most vulnerable of people at the centre of interest.

However, what we all experience in so many ways, and in the field of humanitarian assistance especially, is tremendous change and horrendous dynamics. Like you, we observe the need to respond quicker to current developments, to discuss overarching themes more intensively and to participate even more actively in building the future — always with the goal of strengthening humanitarian principles, humanitarian actors and the humans we serve.

Based on a solid foundation, continuous motivation and new curiosity, we decided to move from one flagship event every other year to a series of events within a two-year cycle.

The Humanitarian Congress Vienna 2026/27 Season has the motto

Humanitarian Assistance and Geopolitical Change.

During the next 16 months, we will invite you to take part in events in various formats covering different aspects of the motto.
