Robert Dempfer, born in 1967, is currently heading the Austrian Red Cross Unit for Social Policy and Humanitarian Diplomacy. After a first career as a journalist, he joined the Red Cross in 1996. In 1999 he was appointed the first Head of Marketing at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). He is author of “Wozu Ausländer? Eine Chance für unsere Gesellschaft” (“Immigrants: Why your Country Needs them“) and “Das Rote Kreuz: Von Helden im Rampenlicht und diskreten Helfern” (“The Red Cross: About Heroes in the Limelight and Silent Helpers“).
