Christina Wille is the founding Director of Insecurity Insight, an organization that strengthens the evidence base on violence against civilians and the impact of conflict on vital civilian infrastructure and services, including healthcare, food systems, and humanitarian operations. Since 2008, she has led the organization’s work to document and analyse these impacts, supporting civil society, humanitarian organizations and the diplomatic community with data and analysis to inform advocacy, policy and operational decision-making.

Since 2017, Christina has pioneered the use of AI-supported methods to identify and analyze violence against civilians and civilian infrastructure using open-source information. Insecurity Insight’s data and analysis are widely used in humanitarian reporting and cited by international media, researchers, and policymakers. The organization’s multilingual AI monitoring system was shortlisted for an AI for Good Award 2025.

Christina has also led Insecurity Insight’s work to understand and address harmful information affecting humanitarian action. Since 2021, the organization has developed methods to monitor narratives circulating on social media that undermine trust in humanitarian organizations, including allegations of complicity in conflict, espionage and support for terrorism. Its monitoring and analysis help aid agencies and policymakers understand these narratives and assess their implications for humanitarian access, acceptance and staff security.

Christina serves on the boards of organizations working to strengthen evidence-based humanitarian action and protect civilians, including the h2h network and the International Network on Explosive Weapons (INEW). Previously, she worked with the Small Arms Survey, the European Commission, UNHCR and the Migration Policy Group. She holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, UK, and is based in Switzerland.
