How are artificial intelligence and digital technologies changing humanitarian action, and how can trust in evidence be safeguarded in times of crisis?
At this special one-off event of the Humanitarian Congress Vienna, we will explore the challenges and opportunities that disinformation, AI, and digital information spaces present for humanitarian assistance. As digital technologies increasingly shape what people believe, whom they trust, and how assistance is delivered, it is essential to ensure that technological progress goes hand in hand with truth, human dignity, accountability, efficiency, and respect for humanitarian principles.
Bringing together perspectives from humanitarian practice, research, ethics, and risk analysis, the event will examine how we can respond to these challenges and build more resilient, trustworthy and accountable digital information spaces. The discussion will focus on practical approaches to ensuring that technology strengthens, rather than undermines, humanitarian principles and democratic values.
