Stepanyan

Upon completing her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Lusine Stepanyan gained extensive experience in various fields including academia, government, and civil society organisations.

For the past seven years, she has worked for Caritas Armenia as a manager of projects related to Migration and Integration. Starting from 2022, she has been designated as the Promoter of International Advocacy Actions.

Prior to working at Caritas Armenia, Lusine was responsible for Relations with the Armenian Communities of Near and Middle East at the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia. She began her professional career as a researcher of Contemporary History of Iran at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences.

In her official capacity at Caritas Armenia and the Ministry of Diaspora, Lusine has been extensively involved in the policy development in Migration and Refugee Protection field as well as support programs for the migrants, refugees and displaced people mainly from Iraq, Syria and Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh).

Starting from 2020 Lusine has also played a significant role in emergency response efforts by Caritas Armenia to assist local and displaced families affected by the war in Nagorno Karabakh, the blockade of the only #RoadOfLife connecting it to Armenia and the rest of the world, and the escalation of conflict on the Armenian borders. She has been the focal point in relations with the Armenian Government, other local and international stakeholders. Furthermore, Lusine has been engaged in advocacy efforts both locally and internationally.

She holds an Honors diploma in Oriental Studies from the Yerevan State University and a Doctorate in History from the Institute of Oriental Studies, National Academy of Sciences, Republic of Armenia.
