Kron

Stefanie Kron is a visiting professor at the Department of Development Studies at the University of Vienna since 2012. She holds a PhD in sociology and is specialised in migration studies, refugee studies, border studies, gender studies and social movements. Her regional focus is on Central America and the Caribbean. She also conducted fieldwork in Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela. From 2006 to 2012, Stefanie Kron worked as an assistant professor at the Institute for Latin American Studies, Freie Universität Berlin. Previously, she worked as a journalist and editor as well as the director of the CAREA, a Human Rights and Refugee Organisation that conducts projects in Mexico and Guatemala.
